Some couple of days ago, former aide to the minister of communication, Victor Oluwadamilare made several allegations and counter , exposing his boss for his lush life.
According to him, Barr Adebayo Shittu had built 25 luxury houses in Abuja, Lagos and Ibadan with N93m worth of printing press and 25 vehicles within 29 months of becoming minister of communication.
Oluwadamilare had taken to his Facebook page to bid goodbye to ‘a corrupt Minister’, while telling his followers of the next move.
In another move, the Minister’s aide had also written a lengthy memo to the minister reminding Shittu of his emolument and how the debts incapacitated his responsibility as a father and husband.
In a swift reaction, Shittu tabled Oluwadamilare’s dossier, alleging him of being fradulent and other malpractice unbefitting for a professional. He also disclosed with a document as evidence of Oluwadamilare’s disengagement.
Shittu further disclosed that Oluwadamilare had shortchanged journalists from budgets earmarked for them.
Meanwhile, the Computer Guild of Nigeria (CGN) has invited the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) to immediately investigate and probe Shittu over allegations of corruption, misappropriation of public funds and self-enrichment against him by former aide.
In an unrelated event, Shittu recently approved the appointment of Mr. Bolaji Kazeem, as the new Special Assistant (media).
This was made known in a press statement issued by the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, Mr Henshaw Ogubuike.
According to the statement, “Mr. Bolaji Kazeem was a Press Secretary at the Special Duties Office (SDO) Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. He was part of media team of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment from 2007-2015 before he was posted to Special Duties Office from Federal Ministry of Information.
