Facebook To Launch SMB Council In Nigeria

In keeping to one of his many promises when he visited Nigeria last year,Facebook co-founder, Mr Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 would launch the Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) council in Lagos.
Gtechnews.com.ng gathered that with the launch of this council, Facebook intends to foster strong relationships with small and medium businesses, listen and learn from their challenges.
The billionaire techprenuer explained that with the Facebook team would get feedback about SMB operations and equip them with knowledge on how they can leverage on its platform and other digital tools to drive continuous growth and increase revenue.
The event is expected to hold at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos.
In a related event, Facebook celebrated Africa’s tech entrepreneurs and developers, at the maiden TechCrunch Startup as well as hosted developers, influencers and community leaders – to share ideas, learn and connect.
TechCrunch’s startup battlefield Africa saw 15 startups compete to win a $25,000 prize. However,Nairobi-based Lori Systems, with its product and service in the Productivity and Utility category, became the overall winner for its logistics and cargo platform for African businesses.
Other winners are Ghanaian based SynCommerce (Gaming and entertainment category winner) Ghanian based AgroCenta, an online marketplace for African farmers (Social good category winner).
