Microsoft has announced its plans to invest 3.2 billion euros ($3.44 billion) in Germany over the next two years, primarily focusing on artificial intelligence (AI).
Microsoft Chairperson,Brad Smith, at an event in Berlin said,
“We are doing this today because of the enormous confidence we have in Germany.”
Highlighting the strategic importance of the German market for Microsoft’s future endeavors, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz lauded the investment as a vote of confidence in Germany’s economy, underscoring its potential to further strengthen the country’s position in the tech industry.
This marks the largest investment by Microsoft in Germany in the past four decades, with a significant portion allocated to establishing data centers and AI training programs in 2024 and 2025.
