NAWOJ Members Need To Be Sane While Staying Safe- Ekine
…Organises 2 Weeks Virtual Skills Acquisition

Lagos State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), disclosed that its members need to stay sane while staying safe in the face of the pandemic and economic crises.
This disclosure came on the heels of the ongoing virtual skills acquisition/training organised for its members.
According to the association, the training was necessitated by the negative impact of covid-19 pandemic on economies.
In a statement signed by Nawoj, there was a need to utilize the situation to empower as many members possible and help to cushion the effect of the pandemic on their financial state.
Commenting, Nawoj Chairperson, Comrade Adeola Ekine emphasized that “A lot of organisation are downsizing while some media houses are owing staff salaries for months,having another source of income would go a long way in mitigating the economic impact of the pandemic
“The association is out to assist members to source other means of income in order to stay sane while staying safe”.
The two weeks virtual trainings which commenced on Monday July 13, 2020 would end by Saturday July 25, 2020 and would feature different categories of trainings such as: Gele, Make-up, hair fascinator, turban making, nose masks and beads.
“All these trainings is virtual in other to adhere to the social distancing law.The facilitators for this trainings include;Mrs Oluwatoyin Yusuf, Creative Director Beadwall Version, Mrs Motunolani Adekunle, Creative Director Mo ‘Belleza’ and Mrs Tosin Fagbenro of Neat Buttons.
“Each category will feature 20 participants so as to allow room for better learning and practice”, Ekine said.
