NAWOJ Tasks FG Over Insecurity, Food Hike,Others
The umbrella body of women Journalists in Nigeria, NAWOJ(Nigeria Association of Women Journalists), Lagos Chapter has called on the government to bring to an end, the insecurity of the nation which is gradually becoming endemic.
According to the association, highways are no longer safe for motorists and travellers as kidnapping and banditry have become recurrent decimal in the country. And inflation, scarcity of food items in the market as a result of the shasha crisis should be addressed vy the powers that be.
Nawoj made these issues among others known during its monthly congress at the weekend.
While calling on the government to find lasting solution ,she frowned at petrol stations being cited in residential areas, saying, ” It has brought disaster to residents in such areas”.
The body also appealed to government to consider Journalists as frontliners to receive the first batch of covid-19 vaccine.
