Nigeria’s digital growth is driving innovation and inclusive economic development, says NITDA Director General, Kashifu Inuwa.
Speaking at a workshop organised by Afrilabs and Intel in Abuja, Inuwa stressed the need for collaboration to achieve national goals, highlighting the importance of strong institutions for effective policy implementation and attracting investment.
Inuwa also mentioned NITDA’s success in attracting interest from other African countries and government institutions, showcasing Nigeria’s innovative policies. He outlined NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2024-2027) 2.0, focusing on digital literacy, technology research, policy implementation, and access to digital services.
Afrilabs’ Chief Operating Officer, Ajibola Odukoya emphasized community-driven innovation to cultivate entrepreneurs for economic growth in Africa. The workshop aimed to address the lack of tailored support for startups in Africa’s deep tech sector, with Odukoya highlighting AI as a tool to connect Africa with global innovation, emphasizing the need for AI frameworks that reflect African problem-solving perspectives.
